Description
English: NCDOT crews removed the initial 600 tons of rock that fell onto I-40 West near mile marker 7 in the North Carolina mountains by 11 p.m. Friday, just eight hours after response efforts began. On Saturday, they loaded an additional 150 tons of loose rock into dump trucks and hauled it away from the site. The crews finished the hauling work at 3 p.m., leaving the road clear and debris free.
