RA 06h 33m Dec +04° 59′ The Rosette Nebula (Caldwell 49) is a large H II region located close to the giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region. The open cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) is closely associated with the nebulosity and dust clouds. Cluster and nebula lie at a distance of some 5,000 light-years from us in Monoceros.
