Description
English: As the NOAA Storm Prediction Center watches intense convective activity in the Midwest, the NOAA GOES satellite is providing updates to meteorologists every 5 minutes. This image, taken by the GOES-13 satellite on March 2, 2012 at 1515z shows the signs of severe weather forming in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. The high cloud tops, associated with colder, more intense "thunderheads," will be monitored closely for tornadic activity throughout the day.
