You could be looking at members of a new generation of scientists and engineers. Nearly 140 youngsters participated in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education activities at the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on April 28, 2016. The event included a musical science show featuring Grand Master Hank, presentations on what NSF does and the importance of science, live talks with researchers in Antarctica, a Hands-On Science Fair with lots of experiments, and the opportunity to contribute to actual research through zooniverse.org, a citizen science website. The day’s activities were made possible by NSF volunteers.
