Description
English: Sheet music cover for "Dorinţa" (en. "The Longing"), a lied for soprano and piano written by N., a composer from Romania who refused to disclose his identity. Lyrics by Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu. Dedicated to Mrs. Pompilia G. Alexandrescu, presumably the composer's amour. Published by Constantin Gebauer, c. 1900. An English translation of the lyrics is available here. The image was created with a Canon CanoScan LiDE 35 scanner.
Română: Coperta partiturii pentru liedul „Dorinţa”, pentru soprană şi pian, scris de compozitorul român N. (care a ales să nu-şi divulge identitatea). Versuri de poetul român Mihai Eminescu. Piesă dedicată doamnei Pompilia G. Alexandrescu, probabil amantă a compozitorului. Editat de Constantin Gebauer în jurul anului 1900. Versurile poemului pot fi citite aici.
