Nagoya City Museum und Historisches Museum der Stadt Wien haben in den Jahren 1997 und 1999 gegenseitige Ausstellungen ihrer Kunststammlungen veranstaltet und freundliche Beziehungen angeknüpft. Um diese guten Verbindungen zwischen beiden Museen noch weiter auszubauen, werden wir den Austausch von Forschungsergebnissen pflegen und Ausstellungsprojekte ausarbeiten. Weitere Vorhaben sind der Austausch von Informationen, Methoden zur Erhaltung von Kulturgütern, Austausch und Weiterbildung des Personals, sowie die Förderung des guten Rufs, der freundschaftlichen Beziehungen und des gegenseitigen Verstehens zwischen den Städten Nagoya und Wien. Aus diesem Grund geben daher beide Museen bekannt, am 27. Januar 2000 Schwestermuseums Beziehungen zu etablieren.
