Summary edit

Description
English: Narrow gauge railway shed, Woodhorn Colliery. The railway was built by, and is operated by volunteers as an attraction at Woodhorn Colliery Museum. Trains run along a 1km route by the east side of the lake in Queen Elizabeth II Country Park to a station, Lakeside Holt, on its north side 1591208. It first ran as a passenger service in 1995.

The diesel locomotive in for repairs at the rear of the shed was built by the Hunslet Engine Company in Leeds 986098, as serial number 6348 in 1975. It did service with British Coal underground at the Vane Tempest Colliery 1529735, came to Woodhorn Museum in 1993, named 'Black Diamond' in 1996 and renamed as the "Elizabeth & Victoria" after the daughters of a sponsor in 2002.

The locomotive shed was salvaged from Vane Tempest Colliery in the early 1990s and is a rare surviving example of the type of shed that would have been a common sight at every UK colliery.
