Description A member of the park maintenance staff briefs volunteers on the proper use of equipment on National Public Lands Day at Stanislaus River Parks near Oakdale, California, Sept. 27, 2014. Over 60 people helped Corps staff with trail maintenance, removal of invasive vegetation, park cleanup and the planting of several cottonwood trees. The annual event is the largest single-day community service project on federal lands and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been involved since it began in 1994. Photo cropped for emphasis.
