Deutsch: Die aus kleinen Hügeln und Mulden, Bachläufen und Tümpeln bestehende Landschaft des Salzbodens ist von kleinen Quellmooren geprägt. Die Flora besteht hauptsächlich aus Moosen und verschiedenen Gräsern (im naturkundlichen Führer "Gletscherweg Innergschlöß Venedigergruppe" von Hannes Schlosser sind angeführt: Borstgras, Krummsegge, Alpenrispengras, Scheuchzers Wollgras). Aus dem Salzbodensee wurde 2012 ein Stück eines Lärchenstammes geborgen, das auf 7637 bis 7283 v. Chr. datiert werden konnte und (neben anderen Funden) belegt, dass der Salzboden vor über 9.000 Jahren mit Lärchen und Zirben bewaldet war. Der Salzboden wurde 2017 - gemeinsam mit dem Kärntner Seebachtal und dem Salzburger Ober- und Untersulzbachtal - für ein interdisziplinäres Forschungsprojekt zur langfristigen Ökosystembeobachtung ausgewählt, das von mehreren Universitäten gemeinsam durchgeführt wird.
