Summary edit

Description
English: Horn Triggerplant or Stylidium petiolare

Fred took shots of native bees feeding on Stylidium petiolare flowers. The bees were small enough for the flowers to support their weight. The bees fed quickly and moved onto another plant. Fred observed the bees rolling around in the flowers.

Stylidium petiolare sometimes grow in large numbers in winter damp soils along water courses or around the base of granite rock areas.

Note that the pollen on these flowers is purple.

Bee: Lasioglossum sp?
