Description Dipping, or gum-gathering, operation of the Southern Basin and Chemical Company of Stockton, Georgia. Note modern methods of tree selection, bark chipping, acid stimulation, in accordance with the Naval Stores Conservation Program practices. Clay cups, being used under temporary exigency, as holdover from earlier uses, will ultimately be replaced by metal.
