English: 051006-N-0057D-227 Mediterranean Sea (Oct. 6, 2005) – Greek Navy frigate Navarinon (F 461) comes alongside the U.S. Sixth Fleet flagship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) while underway in the Mediterranean Sea during exercise Destined Glory (Loyal Midas) 2005. The exercise is a medium-scale NATO amphibious live exercise designed to certify selected NATO units and assigned forces. U.S. participation is to enhance the training for NATO partners, provide training for U.S. forces and to show U.S. commitment.
