English: 130730-N-MG658-030 WASHINGTON (July 30, 2013) Assistant Secretary of the Navy Sean J. Stackley presents Rear Adm. Thomas J. Eccles with the 2012 Rear Admiral Wayne E. Meyer Memorial Award at the Pentagon. Eccles earned the award for his work as the Chief Engineer for the Naval Sea Systems Command managing the SEAWOLF submarine program and the Undersea Systems program which developed and fielded submarine rescue capability that has saved submariners worldwide. The annual acquisition awards recognize individuals and teams for executing creative, effective and cost-saving acquisition practices.
