| Description |
Nederlands: Kaart uit 1865-1870 van de voormalige gemeente Geervliet (prov. Zuid-Holland). Deze gemeente bestond ca. 168 jaar, vanaf het moment dat de gemeente als bestuursvorm werd ingevoerd tot 1 jan. 1980. In deze periode vonden diverse wijzigingen plaats. Op 1 april 1817 viel de gemeente nl. in drieën uiteen met de afsplitsing van Biert en van Schuddebeurs en Simonshaven als aparte gemeenten. Op 1 sept. 1855 werden deze twee gemeenten weer toegevoegd aan Geervliet. Op 1 jan. 1980 fuseerden de gemeenten Geervliet, Abbenbroek, Heenvliet, Oudenhoorn en Zuidland tot de nieuwe gemeente Bernisse. Geervliet ligt ca. 16 km ten zuidwesten van Rotterdam.
