English: Nevers (Nièvre).
Église Notre-Dame de Nevers dite église Saint-Genest (XIIe). L'église relevait en fait de l’abbaye Notre-Dame, mais était destinée aux habitants du quartier. L'église était entourée d’un cimetière. Aux XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles, c'est l'ancienne église paroissiale des faïenciers, rue Saint-Genest. Le faïencier Antoine Conrade* y aurait été inhumé en 1648. Vendue comme bien national en 1791. Le clocher en flèche, couvert de tuiles faïencées, aurait été détruit en 1794. En 1834-1836, l'église perdra son abside et ses absidioles orientales lors d'une opération d'alignement de la rue Saint-Genest. Aux XIXe et XXe siècles, l'église servira de brasserie, de dépôt de vin, puis de garage. L'église Saint-Genest de Nevers aurait été vendue aux gérants de la faïencerie Georges en 2013. Le linteau très abîmé représente les apôtres. Dans son ouvrage "Dictionnaire raisonné de l’architecture française du XIe au XVIe siècle - tome 7, Viollet-le-Duc remarque : "(...) dès le milieu du XIIe siècle, dans la même ville, à Nevers, on élevait la porte de l’église de Saint-Genest, qui peut être considérée comme un chef-d’œuvre par ses bonnes proportions, la beauté et la sobriété de sa sculpture."
