Description Life jacket loaners for children hang on display at the entrance to New Hogan Lake near Valley Springs, Calif., July 8. The lake has 50 miles of shoreline when full, and includes several campsites, boat ramps, disc golf (Frisbee golf) and other recreational activities open to the public. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District manages the lake and encourages visitors to wear life jackets during any activity on or near the water. There are also adult life jackets available for loan.
