Description
English: The Japanese Ministry of Finance has announced that a new version of the yen banknotes and 500 yen coins [1] are due to go on circulating for banknotes in 2024 and coins in 2021, replacing the current version except for the 2,000-yen banknote. The redesigned yen bill boasts icons of science and ukiyo-e artworks. More detailed watermarks and hologram have been introduced to improve anti-counterfeiting measures.
