Description

Geese on a foggy morning, New Orleans.

"I was a photographer for the New Orleans Park and Parkways Commission, creating slide shows to train horticultural laborers. Every morning, these geese rose with the dawn and the arrival of four hundred workers who came to collect lawnmowers, tractors, loppers, clippers, and tools to tame the fecund overgrowth of the swamp that underlies New Orleans. Patiently the geese, who had been born and raised there, took their morning stroll into the haze, stretching and honking as the humans around them stretched and yawned."
