English: The days of the colonial-era metre-gauge Lunatic Express sleeper train taking 15 hours have ended. A new fast standard-gauge line opened between Nairobi & Mombasa on 31 May 2017. Passenger trains called the Madaraka Express now take just 4 hours 30 minutes
