Summary edit

Description
English: New style of locomotive built by Schwartzkopff for the lightest portable track, 40 hp. This articulated locomotive had four cylinders (8160mm x 230mm) and 600mm diameter wheels; the weight was 12½ tons, and the length 7000mm. It is probably Schwartzkopff No 8782, as this appears in a list as an 0−4−4−0T for Java.

The same articulated locomotive is shown on as illustration 385 of 75 Years Schwartzkopff, which was published in October 1927. In this book the caption states that it was a "Plantation tank locomotive for sugar cane waste (ampass) firing, can be used on the lightest portable rails. Supplied in large numbers to Java and Peru."

The classification is confusingly similar to 0−4−4−0 or to 0-4-0+0-4-0 (Garratt).
