Summary

edit
Description
English: Staddle of salt-marsh hay in Newbury Marsh, Newbury, Massachusetts. The staddle was constructed for show in that part of the marsh probably painted by Heade. Although some of the marsh is still grazed by cattle, most of it is protected. In colonial times staddles covered the marsh.
