English: Newcastle Central Station, near to Gateshead, Great Britain.
Before the new south side platform was added the area was used for marshalling parcels vehicles. The traffic was heavy enough to justify two station pilots, normally class 03 shunters like the one in the photo. In fact both are in this shot - the other is visible in the early morning sunshine at the far end of the station. |
