English: Nicholas Philip Trist, a U.S. diplomat who served as American consul to Cuba and helped negotiate the end of the Mexican War, is the subject of this circa-1850 lithograph published in Paris. The Charlottesville-born Trist married Virginia Jefferson Randolph, one of Thomas Jefferson's granddaughters.
