Summary edit

Description Lot-2292-5: WWII-Communications: AC Radar Scope of the Nation’s Capital. Radar scope photograph of the Potomac approach to Washington taken at night from a Flying Fortress by the Army Air Forces. The center of the photograph is approximately over Park Fairfax or Fairlington. Alexandria is at the bottom of the picture and the Key Bridge is at the top right. The photograph was taken with improved equipment, that produces such fine definition that even the runways on National Airport and Bolling Field can be picked out. Scrutiny of the picture will show the Pentagon, the Army War College, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the Washington Monument, and all the bridges over the Potomac. U.S. Army Signal Corps Photograph: SC-99902. Courtesy of the Library of Congress. (2018/02/23).
