Description
Deutsch: Niklaus Tscharner (1650-1737), 1662-68 Hohe Schule in Lausanne, militär. Karriere in Frankreich bis zum Oberstleutnant (1690), dann in Holland 1693 Oberst und 1705 Generalmajor. Als Oberbefehlshaber über die Berner Truppen schützte er 1692 Genf und 1708 Neuenburg vor militär. Druckversuchen Frankreichs. 1712 zeichnete er sich im 2. Villmergerkrieg als Feldoberst der Berner Truppen aus. Ab 1691 war er Berner Grossrat, 1698-1702 Landvogt von Lausanne, ab 1708 Kleinrat, 1714-15 Zeugherr und 1715-19 Venner zu Pfistern.
