English: Nissen style hut, near Fulletby Nissen huts are traditionally of corrugated steel, rather than this example which is concrete/asbestos.
During 1916, a Major Peter Norman Nissen of the 29th Company Royal Engineers designed and built the now familiar hut. At least 100,000 were produced in WWI. The division between arable land and rough grazing, is the River Waring, which runs from Belchford to join the River Bain at Horncastle.
