English: This animation uses data from the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite to show the monthly average nitrogen dioxide concentrations over China in February 2019, February 2020 and February 2021. In early 2020, data from satellites were used to show a decline in air pollution over China coinciding with nationwide lockdowns put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19. One year later, nitrogen dioxide levels in China have risen back to pre-COVID levels according to new data from the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite.
