Summary edit

Description
English: The log of the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, records a communication on August 9, 1950, when U.S. troops held the Naktong River line, in which the regimental commander orders, "Shoot all refugees coming across river." The entry is fifth from the bottom, at "1655 hours" (4:55 p.m.). "Scrappy 6" was the code name for the commander, Col. Raymond D. Palmer. This was 11 days after the large-scale killing of South Korean refugees at No Gun Ri by the sister 7th Cavalry Regiment. The existence of this and many similar documents showing a policy and practice of indiscriminate civilian killings was not disclosed in the Pentagon's 2001 No Gun Ri investigative report.
