Description These are rear-end helper engines on an eastbound freight train at Horseshoe Curve, west of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during the late morning of 10 May 2016. Both engines are General Motors Electro-Motive Division SD50 units that have been rebuilt as SD40E models. Norfolk Southern Railway # 6313 was built in May 1984 and has seen service as Conrail # 6750 (in blue-and-white paint) and as an NS unit (in black-and-white paint). # 6310 was built in July 1984 as Norfolk Southern Railway # 6514 - it was renumbered after being rebuilt.
