Description

c/n 88-9725 Built in November 1942 as an AT-6C with the US military serial 41-33262 but allocated to the Royal Air Force as a Harvard IIA with the British military serial EX289. In February 1943 she was transferred to the South African Air Force and given the serial 7183. She was returned to the RAF and shipped back to the UK in October 1946 before being sold off in 1950. Joined the Portuguese Air Force as 1535 and served there until 1978 when she was sold to Euroworld International in the UK. In March 1979 she was civil registered as G-TSIX but from October that year she was put on static display at East Midlands Airport as part of the Loughborough and Leicester Aircraft Museum, painted as EX289 and coded T6-G. She moved to Spanhoe in 1994 and was restored to airworthy condition in a false US Navy colour scheme. She is now operated by Bulldog Aviation and is seen being used by Classic Wings for giving pleasure flights during the Imperial War Museum’s 2021 Battle of Britain Air Show.
