English: North Bay, Scarborough This is truly a photo of two halves. From the left to the centre is North Bay and the Sands development clearly in evidence. Worthy of a mention are the colourful beach chalets. From the centre to the right of this photo is the miniature railway which runs from here to the nearby Peasholm park. The mound to the left of the railway is what was formerly Kinderland, a children's adventure playground, amongst other things. The pylons for the chair lift which also goes to near Peasholm park are also visible. Sadly although most of the machinery for this appears to be intact, it is no longer in use. I can only imagine what a wonderful place this was in its heyday of the '50s & '60s |
