English: Northampton Market Square - Northampton Market Square has been significantly improved in 2009 and 2010 with a new stall layout, and the creation of a flexible events space. A diverse programme of events now runs throughout the year in the Square. This regeneration project is proving to be successful and has attracted many more people into the Square on event days and is encouraging people to use the rest of the town, with the potential to boost the economy.

A new LED lighting scheme, designed by Jo Fairfax and LITE has been implemented in the Market Square to brighten the Square in the evening and ensure it is a welcoming place to be both in the day and night.

The concept of lighting the heritage façades around the Market Square was a natural extension of the wider Market Square project. The lighting scheme also makes the Square into a stunning advert for promoting Northampton and helps to boost the diversity of the evening economy by adding a sympathetic, impressive and inviting lighting scheme.

The coloured lights are flexible as they are on a programme which changes every hour to ensure no two hours are the same throughout the year. They are also be programmed to enhance events or display certain colours for important dates in the year.
