English: Northstead Manor Gardens
The miniature railway opened in 1931 and runs from near the southern park entrance to Scalby Mills. The railway, originally operated by the local council, is now run by the North Bay Railway Company (Web site: http://www.nbr.org.uk/ ). The water chute is one of only two remaining in the UK, the other being the original one at Wicksteed Park near Kettering. The ride was built in 1932 as part of the development of Northstead Manor Gardens, which were completed in 1935. The data given for the date taken is the processing date on the slide and therefore could have been taken several weeks earlier. |
