Summary

Description
English: Norwegian and German Nazi uniforms of the Second World War:

1. German SS uniform for Norwegian volunteers in Germanske SS Norge (museum's photo here; see also this tunic). The black "classic style" uniform of Germanske SS had one SS shoulder strap on the right shoulder and a circular swastika symbol instead of the SS runes on the right collar patch/tab. Thd members wore ski caps (skilue) instead of the visor caps, and a diamond shape patch on the left sleeve as a symbol of approval for the germanic SS by Himmler. The decoration on the chest is the Frontkjempermerket.

2. German Waffen-SS Unterscharführer uniform for Norwegian volunteers (frontkjemper, 'frontfighter') (museum's photo here). The machine gun is a German MP 40.

3. German inspired uniform of Statspolitiet (Nazi armed police forces of Norway 1941 – 1945) model 1942 (museum's photo here). The national emblem of Norway on the police cap badge is similar to the sun cross and eagle symbol of the Norwegian Nazi party Nasjonal Samling (NS) (the German Nazi Party also adapted the Parteiadler, their stylized version of the German imperial eagle with swastika, as Reichsadler, national symbol for Germany, 1935 – 1945).
Also Nazi propaganda posters by illustrator Harald Damsleth, etc.

Photo taken on March 20, 2019 at the exhibitions of Rustkammeret, the Norwegian Army and Restistance Museum at the Erkebispegården in Trondheim, Norway.
