Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War, Nazi Germany and the German occupation of Norway 1940 – 1945:
  • 'Entrance only by permission' ('admission by order only', Norwegian: Adgang kun efter ordre), small door sign from the office of Birger Eriksen, Norwegian officer and commander of Oscarsborg Fortress when Nazi Germany attacked Norway in the early hours of 9 April 1940. He gave order to open fire on the vanguard forces of Operation Weserübung, sinking the 16,000 ton heavy cruiser Blücher.
This door-sign belonged to the Norwegian colonel Birger Eriksen who gave order to open fire and sunk the German battleship Blucher in Oslofjord 9.April 1940. The sign says "Entrance only by permission". You will find more about Eriksen in the museum.

Dette dørskiltet sto på døren til oberst Birger Eriksen som var kommandant på Oskarsborg. Det var Eriksen som på eget ansvar åpnet ild og senket den tyske krysseren Blücher. Eriksen var fra Lofoten og du vil finne mer om ham i museet.
