The City of Robbinsdale issued a demolition permit on Friday afternoon, September 23, 2016. As of this submission, a judge has issued a stay on demolition of the historic theater. Unfortunately, the order came after construction workers entered the site on Saturday morning, September 24. Using an excavating machine, the crew "punched a hole" in the upper brick portion of the building and knocked down the boarded up glass wall at ground level. Workers then proceeded to fill the theater's lobby with debris from the parking lot demolition.
