Englisch: Former Nußloch town hall on Hauptstrasse/Lindenplatz. Like many town halls and schools back then with roof turrets and a bell tower. To the left of it is the “Zum Goldenen Hirsch” restaurant. After the First World War, the community acquired the neighboring inn to expand the administrative premises. The Sparkasse Heidelberg with a small branch was also housed in the former town hall. On March 31, 1945, parts of the 63rd Infantry Division of the US Army marched from Leimen and Walldorf into Nußloch. Due to the resistance of soldiers of the Reichswehr and members of the Waffen-SS who remained behind, military clashes broke out in the town center. The town hall on Lindenplatz, several residential buildings and a tobacco factory burn down. |
