Na Cúpula para a Paz, realizada neste sábado (21/10) no Cairo, o secretário-geral da ONU, António Guterres, reiterou seu apelo para que a ajuda humanitária seja entregue forma sustentada à Gaza.

A Cúpula aconteceu um dia depois de Guterres ter viajado para a passagem de Rafah, no Egito, a única passagem fronteiriça aberta com Gaza.

O chefe da ONU disse que lá testemunhou um paradoxo, “uma catástrofe humanitária se desenrolando em tempo real”.

Ele observou que centenas de caminhões “cheios de alimentos e outros suprimentos essenciais” estavam no lado egípcio, enquanto do outro lado da fronteira, dois milhões de pessoas em Gaza estavam sem água, alimentos, combustível, eletricidade e medicamentos.

Neste sábado, um primeiro comboio transportando itens extremamente necessários foi autorizado a entrar em Gaza.
