Description
Español: Los dominicos llegaron a este municipio diez años después que los españoles llegaron a Oaxaca. Con la sericultura, Yanhuitlán es el centro comercial de la Mixteca, la seda se vende en México, Puebla y la antequera; las ganancias se guardan en cofres con cerraduras de tres llaves y son estas cajas comunales las que permiten seguir desarrollando su cultura en siete barrios, en siete cofradías que existen hasta nuestros días en Yanhuitlán: Ayuxu Dana, Xayujo, Tico, Tinde, Yudayo. Yuxacoyo y Yuyuxa.
