Description
Deutsch: Landkarte Oberkärntens, dem westlichen Teil von Kärnten / Österreich aus der Zeit um 1750. Die im Original farbige Wandkarte im Maßstab 1:360.000 wurde vermutlich in der Seutterschen Werkstatt in Augsburg gedruckt. Karthograph war der aus Wien stammende "Landesingenieur" Nikolaus Josephus Karl Surgant (23.02.1702-03.10.1763), dessen 1765 verstorbene Sohn Josef Paul Ingeniur-Leutnant im Regiment Lichtenstein war. Die Karte, die möglicherweise im Umfeld der Josephinische Landesaufnahme entstand, wurde um 1990 von Ota Pokorný in der umfangreichen Kartensammlung des mittelböhmischen Schloßarchivs Kačina bei Kutná Hora dem früheren Kuttenberg in Tschechien (Böhmen) entdeckt. Die Bearbeitung z.B. der Ortsbezeichnungen ist noch nicht abgeschlossen.[1] Auf der Geographischen Mappa des obern Kreis Im Herzogthum Carnthen verläuft die Grenze zu Unterkärnten östlich des Kanaltals bei Raibl, über den Wurzenpass, durch den Faaker See, im Osten Villach vorbei, durch den Ossiacher See, nach Gnesau und dann östlich der Turrach nach Norden.
