Description

O Oceanário de Lisboa é um museu de biologia marinha situado no Parque das Nações em Lisboa, Portugal, construído no âmbito da Expo 98. Este pavilhão, da autoria do arquitecto norte-americano Peter Chermayeff, lembra um porta-aviões e está instalado num cais rodeado de água. É o segundo maior oceanário do mundo (2004) e contém uma impressionante colecção de espécies — aves, mamíferos, peixes e outros habitantes marinhos. Os habitats escolhidos, pela sua riqueza natural em termos de fauna e flora, foram os seguintes: oceano Antárctico, recife de coral do oceano Índico, costas rochosas do oceano Pacífico e costa dos Açores, no oceano Atlântico.

A principal atracção, para a maior parte dos visitantes, é o grande tanque central, onde coexistem várias espécies de peixes como tubarões, barracudas, raias, atuns e pequenos peixes tropicais.
