Summary edit

Description
English: The Danish frigate Sjælland spent some years as training ship for cadets. Its first command in that role was in 1869-70, when it represented Denmark in the opening of the Suez Canal. The officers are gathered around captain Rasmus Christian Malthe Bruun. He is seated on one of the two Armstrong 8-inch (20 cm) RML's that had been installed to provide some sort of fighting value against the new ironclads of the day. Attribution: Orlogsmuseet (Royal Danish Navy Museum).
