This is the lead unit of a north-bound freight train on the Ohio Central Railroad at Rock Cut, Ohio on 20 April 2012. It is has an Ohio Central dark maroon and yellow paintjob. Engine # 4027 is a General Motors Electro-Motive Division SD40T-2, which is a slightly modified version of a normal SD40-2. The "T" stands for "tunnel" - the radiator intakes are set lower so that hot fumes caught near tunnel ceilings are not preferentially introduced. Ohio Central # 4027 was formerly used by the Southern Pacific Railroad. The 2nd engine of this train is Ohio Central Railroad # 3308, an SD40-2 formerly with Union Pacific Railroad. It still has Union Pacific's yellow color scheme. Locality: Rock Cut, ~4.0 air miles south-southeast of the town of Dresden, northern Muskingum County, eastern Ohio, USA |
