Description
English: Chelsea boots, ankle-high boots for horse riding and walking, featuring elastic side panels, boot straps and heel spurs, crafted from fine leather by the shoemaker firm C. Johansen in Oslo, Norway in the 1920s for Crown Prince Olav, who became king of Norway in 1957, and worn by him until his passing in 1991. Also exhibited are shoe stretchers (shoe trees) used to block out the shoes for a better fit and a storage pouch. Photo taken at the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum (Forsvarsmuseet) in Oslo, Norway.

Norsk bokmål: Springstøvler, ankelsko for riding og spaserturer, med strikk i sida og spore på hælene, laget av fint lær i av skomakeren C. Johansen i Kristiania i 1920-åra for daværende kronprins Olav, fra 1957 konge, og brukt av ham fram til hans død i 1991 Se Ingrid Maria Lutnæs' omtale av «Kong Olavs velbrukte favorittstøvler».
