Summary
editDescriptionOld Cuckmere River - geograph.org.uk - 670394.jpg |
English: Old Cuckmere River View of the hairpin shaped meander near Exceat. The reason the meander is so tight here is due to the medieval causeway built on the right that now carries the A259. The causeway was initially built as a sea defence to prevent farmland further up the valley from flooding and was originally much higher. Taken from the very edge of the river opposite Exceat visitors centre. |
