Description
English: A scan of an 1875 photograph taken of the old Greenside Inn, in the photo the original Leslie Primary School (1870-1955) is seen which was replaced by the current School.

The photograph shows a transparent figure, in 1875 photographs could take up to an hour to capture, the man walked in front of the camera, stood for a little amount of time and left showing a shadow figure.

The children playing in the background were captured as in 1875 the background would be captured first and the part of the image being focused on would take longer.

The scan was done with a mobile camera-phone's scanner feature. It is high quality and was taken with a 2012 HTC Windows 8X1 mobile phone.

Taken in Leslie, fife circa 1875. Unknown who it was taken by. Given to me by William Fiet who wrote the book Old Leslie and Old Markinch. My grandfather is friends with him thus giving me access to this photograph and he allowed me to scan it.
