Description
English: Westbound view of the short stub connecting road between Bass Road (Old US 15-301) and Ballard Lane (Older US 15) in Santee, South Carolina. A second connecting road exists just south of here, but it much more poorly maintained than this one. Ballard Lane was the original US 15, and was also the road to the original bridge over the Santee River. When the river was dammed up to create Lake Marion in 1941, the route was shifted onto Bass Lane at a higher bridge over the lake and by 1987 was moved to the Interstate 95 bridges which were built in 1968. North of this intersection, Ballard Lane is at the bottom of the embankment for Bass Road, but south of there, it's at the top of an embankment.
