English: Old diggings for Tilestones A line of these grassy pits can be traced for several kilometres over Mynydd Myddfai and Mynydd Bach Trecastell wherever the flaggy sandstones of the 'Tilestones Formation' underlie the surface. Formerly used for roofing, they were superseded in the 19th century by slates from North Wales. |
