| Description |
English: Old milepost outside Thornton in Lonsdale. This old milepost is on the road between Ingleton and Kirkby Lonsdale that bypasses Thornton in Lonsdale. It doesn't seem to be dated but similar posts in Cheshire are dated around 1898 following the Local Government Act of 1888 when County and County Borough councils were established in England and Wales. The cast iron plate is set into a concrete post. The information on the casting is:
