Summary edit

Description
English: This pre-1916 postcard (that I own) from an old scrapbook claims to show the members of the Aston Villa 1912-13 season English Football Association Cup winning team. The names of the players are listed, but there is a handwritten note which indicates three of the names are mislabeled. The author of the note is not known. Two names have been scratched out, but can be read under magnification. They are T. Barber and T. Weston. The writer has substituted Littlewood and placed Barber at the end after C. Stephenson. Judging from other photos of the team found online, the writer of the note is correct. He says that this photo was taken after that year's game with Chelsea. So, in short, one player, Weston, is missing, and one player who did not appear in the cup final is shown, namely Littlewood.
Date Probably 1913, the date of the football match, but before 1916, when the postcard company closed.
Source

Original publication: Postcard probably ca 1913, but pre-1916, because the Rotary Photographic Co. went out of business in 1916.

Immediate source: Postcard in my possession removed from old black paper scrapbook. The scan is my own. On the back it says "Rotary Photographic Series" and "Printed in Britain" and "This is a Real Photograph"

This is clearly an original postcard (from which I made this scan) and published by Rotary Photographic Co. Ltd. which went out of business in 1916. There is no copyright indication on the back, and as with almost all postcards, there is no date shown on the back.
